In the picture above Henry Hudson is meeting with the leader of the First Nations.
Henry Hudson had many encounters with the First Nations. Some were good and some were terrible. The first time they met it was horrendus. Henry Hudson's crew stole one of their boats to sail across the river and get some food. After some time, the First Nations did not know what happened to the boat so a small crew set out to look for it. Henry Hudson's crew were almost at shore when the First Nations saw them. One person from Henry Hudson's crew died from an arrow to the neck shot by a First Nation member. That was his first encounter with the First Nations. From then on, his encounters were neutral. Henry Hudson traded weapons such as knives and hatchets for fur, grapes and medicines from the First Nations. Henry Hudson even got invited to see the leader of the First Nations in his teepee. Ever since then, Henry Hudson and his crew got along well with the First Nations.
